Position: Full-time Private Chef
Location: Northern Westchester and NYC
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11 am – 8 pm with flexibility for occasional Saturdays
Salary: $110K+ plus benefits (healthcare, 401k, and paid vacation)
Overview: A couple with residences in Northern Westchester and NYC is seeking a Private Chef to prepare their daily lunch and dinner and lunches/dinners when entertaining guests.
Responsibilities:
. Chef does the food shopping in the morning before arriving at 11 am to make lunch for the couple and 2 staff members. Dinners are typically for the couple and 1 staff member. If the couple goes out for dinner, the workday ends at 5 pm.
· Some dinners may take place in Manhattan, no more than 4 times per year.
· Guests are present for lunch typically once per week. Dinner guests are typically once per week. Dinner parties of 6-14 people are buffet-style and given fewer than 15 times per year. On a dinner party evening, the Chef works until the end of the meal.
· Chef needs to work efficiently and cleanly. Baking skills are required. Menu suggestions may come from the owners, but the Chef is expected to create most meals without suggestions.
· Prep help and dishwashing is provided for meals over 6 people.
· Weekend food is made on Fridays and left for the couple. The staff is off on weekends unless there are house guests and/or entertaining, which happens fewer than 15 weekends per year.\
· Chef never works on a Sunday and works fewer than 15 Saturdays. In the event of a Saturday workday, a comp day may be taken at other times.
· Uniform will be provided, except for shoes.
Benefits:
· Aetna healthcare plan for the employee, fully paid by the employer. There is an annual deductible of $1,200 for which the employee is responsible. Co-pays are $30 for good visits, $60 for specialists, and $75 for urgent care. Aetna’s network is vast and most doctors who accept any insurance are in-network under the provided plan.
· Short-term disability plan with Aflac, fully paid by the employer. Other health insurance and life insurance may be added at the employee’s expense. There is no dental plan.
· 401(k) plan starts after one full year of employment and consists of a dollar for dollar match up to 10% of the salary.
· Vacation is three weeks, fully paid.
Qualifications:
· Must have experience in a comparable role in a primary residence.
· Low ego and be open to feedback and improvements overall.
· Upbeat and transparent personality a must. Will interface directly with high-profile guests.
· Must hold the utmost discretion and confidentiality standards.
